Hi I’ve been fishing out of a pelican castaway 116 that I bought for $150. Now I want to improve to a kayak with more space and something I can stand up in. Max price I’ll go is $500. What is a great stable fishing kayak around that price? My choice Vibe Kayaks SkipjackThanks in advance! I didn't find the right solution from the internet.

Lots of options regarding space...and many to stand up, but under $500 narrows that. Obviously wider is more stable in most cases(but slower and heavier). Having bought quite a few fishing kayaks I rarely regretted buying bigger, but I have regretted buying smaller(cheaper). I usually fish out of a tarpon 120 based on type of fishing I preferand can stand in it with some focus but wouldn't recommend it. I am partial to Wilderness System and their ride series hulls are designed is designed to stand. I've also fished from a Jackson and a Lots of others but not sure many for less than 5. Think Lifetime from Cabellas is a less expensive one maybe. Hard to buy em without sitting in em...so I always a recommend a demo. Buy one hat fits you and where/how you fish.

I agree with fokromix, your price point limits your choices. I can't speak much to the lower end of the range. My first yak was a used Jackson Cuda. Great boat, but after shoulder surgery I stepped up to a Hobie Outback and have been very satisfied. My advice is to try out as many as you can. Most good shops have demo days, and are helpful answering questions.
