Went by around 4:30 today 2/21 and looked to open. Lot was clear and nothing blocking entrance or ramp.

Put in at Hardy this morning. Didn't notice the dredging like I thought I would. Lot of nice riprap work. Barge covering most of the right (east) side of the river on the down river side of bridge. Water has a good color all the way to Chandlers and tenniscourts. Starts to get rather stained past that.

What was the water depth that you saw, from the dock out of the cove? Where was the riprap work done? I thought there was already plenty of rock along the bank. Also, how is the bridge work coming along? Wow, I almost forgot to ask .... How was the fishing? Catching?

I still seems to be just a narrow channel head to the main channel. With the water at normal height, we were getting 5'/6' at the end of ramp Moving towards main channel, must've strayed to the left a hair and read 3'. Still thought we were in the "dredged" channel. Bridge is probably 20%. Barge on BayRock side. We stayed left, no problems. Water is good green/olive color. Stain picks up past Chandlers. We had problems with bait. This is normal for us. Feast or famine. We tried trestle, must have been a flat head chain bait, because, we threw on the bait and caught blue gills and white perch in 2' water. Excellent eating crappies at Moormans docks. Ended up in the back of Grimes on a suggestion. Caught four in that general area all on the bank board. Lot of lookers on down line. Temp was 47ish in main channel at Indian. 52 back of Grimes, 53ish along Moormans stretch and 57 at Hardy ramp. Peace out.

Forgot, Riprap has been reapplied. The riprap goes farther out towards the point, is more and appears to almost be cemented together. The riprap also is extended out a short distance in between and along the sides of the ramps. New brick s%÷t house at the top of the hill in the grassy area where the upper and lower parking lots intersect. Not sure if it is open for sevice, the old johny house is still in place.
