Does anyone know if the Oak Grove or Hales Ford ramp allow overnight parking? Thank you.

I’ve night fished out of there a few times and never had a problem. The truck and trailer were there from dark to dawn.

Thank you johnr. I had a few friends launch last night for today's tournament. I didn't see any signage there (unlike Penhook 9). Thanks again.

There's a sign at penhook? I've fished all night out of there many times. Alot of people do. Never had any problems there either.

Use to leave my truck parked overnight at Oak Grove all the time when I lived just up the street from it. Never had an issue with it not being allowed to be there. Used it just before Christmas and launched at 5:00 am to catch bait, came back after fishing til 11:00 am and someone jacked the tags off my truck. They also took a bag of trash out of the bed.

Yikes, disappointing to hear of people messing with other people's stuff... That burns me up. I have ~$1,800 of aftermarket lights on my truck, and I always worry about leaving it overnight. Not too long ago, my cousins in Florida came back to their ramp to find that someone had jacked the tailgate from their brand new F-150! Fortunately, I've never had any problems anywhere on SML -- but I'm sure that the occasional low-life might show up anywhere...
I'm pretty certain that overnight parking is fine at both Hales Ford and Oak Grove -- it's also okay at the State Park so long as you deposit the additional fee.

Someone stole my trailer tags while it was parked at penhook around Christmas. They were nice enough to put the screws, washers and nuts back in the bracket though. Thanks!

Wow, I always worry to about parking overnight at any ramp due to the "Interesting" people who may wonder by. I especially worry when me and buddies are doing overnight float trips kayaking the rivers. |
