....or so I thought! Mward and I scouted up to Indian Sat. morning and luckily came off plane inside the creek mouth just to look around a minute. When I went to turn the boat around my steering cable made a “pop” and the steering went completely out. Luckily for us, Mward’s boat was nearby and he was nice enough to tow me home. Looks like I’ve got a little project now to fix the steering cable, but doesn’t seem too awful bad in watching a couple videos. May do my oil, plugs, gas lines, lower unit oil, and impeller while I’m at it; and just bought new trailer hubs tonight for the trailer. If I can convince Mward to rewire my console for a 6pack, maybe I can get through a fishing trip without issue!

Hate to hear this. No doubt mward was watching the graph all the way back to your dock. Give it up mward, you see much.

I had the same thing happen to me Sunday as well.... I had made the long run from Penhook up past Grimes and stopped to fish a main lake point and went to make a turn after coming off plane and mine had evidently frozen up and popped when I tried to turn it... fortunately it was in an almost straight forward position so we were able to slowly motor back down to Indian. I did catch one about 29" casting a fluke on a jig so I can say it was worth freezing my steering wheel off!

Sorry to hear about this but we all know it's part of the gig. Boat isn't a noun. It's an acronym.
Was great seeing Sarah yesterday. Had not seen her since she'd come back. She looks fab. You married up, dood.

I'm glad to see you guys fixed it.
How's the water looking other than low? Any ice still?

Was alot of ice last weekend in beaver. Backs of others were icy. We had to bust ice for about 75yrds to get the boat out. Main channel was good that I saw.

Nice dock, too. I like the composite decking.

Told him I’m taking no responsibility when his wheels fall off on the highway

It's fish being caught. I dunno if it's consistent enough to drive down from Pennsylvania for them though..😂 I would wait til spring if I were you. Fish are hungry and chances of catching bigger fish are better.

I prefer March over April. Seems like by April the fish are starting to group up and move, so they can be hard to pinpoint from day to day. In March, they’re still all about the food and that makes them a little more predictable. Of course this is just my opinion.
