Weather: 60 - Windy w/ some very strong gusts Water Temp: 49-51 Technique: Jigging / Casting Time: 0800 - 1200 I have a good dozen or so areas marked on my electronics left to check out on the BW, and knowing I did not have a lot of time today I hit the ones closest to home. No stripers out of them. Having the itch to get a couple stripers (instead of LM) in the boat before I had to head in, per the Mrs., I abandoned my scouting plan and made a 10 min. ride to a flat I first checked out in mid-November. Each time I have been to this spot I’ve seen fish on the electronics, and all but one time we’ve caught stripers. However, the largest striper we’ve caught here has only been 20”. I consider this my money spot with my 8 yo still getting the hang of jigging. I quickly found a school of fish and caught a few of the “norm” (plus a tree branch or two) in 30’ of water. 18” was my best and all caught (to include the branches) were released. Here the last month or so, my brass and nickel dardevle spoons have been what I’ve caught a majority of my stripers on (and a few of my LM bass). Today I caught all my stripers on a 3/4 oz. brass. To end my short day on the water I hit a couple old spots near home before putting the boat away - right as some heavy rain started to fall.

Nice report. I've not broken out the jigging gear yet - Fall was so late arriving I haven't gotten my fill of live-bait fishing - well, probably never will - but it can be a VERY effective technique now through February.
