The SML Marine Volunteer Fire / Rescue group is going to hold a Catch-Photo-Release striper tournament on 1/20/18. Key details: $50 entry PER PERSON (not per team - multiple people may fish together, but will turn in individual entries) Winners determined by longest, single fish - tie-breaker by earliest time of catch, as determined by GPS Geotagging data) Payout to 1st, 2nd & 3rd place 50% of entry fees will go to the Fire/Rescue department. The remaining 50%, plus any overages from funds raised from their sponsors, will be paid out 50% to 1st, 30% to 2nd and 20% to 3rd Tournament is Saturday, 1/20/18 from 6am to 3pm, with awards at 3:30 at Bridgewater Marina. A captains meeting will be held at 6pm on Friday, 1/19. They will hand out measuring devices to use in the tournament - these must be returned. You will have to submit your pictures from a Smartphone or other device capable to Geotagging the picture with location & time caught. Tournament waters are designed in the rules (basically SML up to Bayroc and Ponderosa - but refer to the rules). I met with the team the other day to get the scoop on some questions as well as to provide some "lessons learned" from the Striper Mafia events. I've very glad to see this being done as a Catch-Photo-Release tournament and wanted to help them close a few holes I saw in their rules - and areas of ambiguity. Just to be clear, this is not related, being conducted by or a part of the Striper Mafia series - which means I'll get a chance to fish one for once I believe they are in the process of updating the rules and info on the website, but you can find out more over at www.SMLMFR.com

Just popping this to the top for everyone as I've had a few folks ask me where to find out details... figure the more support the Rescue Squad can get the better..... weather currently looks good for the weekend.
If you register on-line, note that you need to register on one page, and then you can pay on-line, but you do that on another page..... so just pay attention to make sure you do both....
