I am asking this question for a buddy that duck hunts. Does anyone hunt ducks around the lake? It seems questionable with all the houses. I know there are some cove and creeks that do not have houses in them I am sure they would be ok. Just looking for some insight if it's worth hunting. I seem to see a lot of ducks on the water.

Friend of mine use to alot. Perfectly legal. Just read up on the regs, they may differ from body of water. Although its legal.... you may pee some people off. My friend said thats why he quit, so many people calling the warden and cussing them out that it wasnt worth the hassel.

I hunt ducks and go elsewhere. 15 minutes to the lake and it just ain’t worth the hassle. Plus no ducks anymore.

I'm pretty sure I could have killed these without a shotgun yesterday. Maybe there aren't many ducks on the lake but it looks to me like some of the ones that are there are friendly enough that a small fishing boat makes a great decoy! Hope posting this is OK (not trying to get off topic) just thought it kinda related to the topic

Yeah that is funny I have had them pretty close as well. maybe I will bring him down and we will hunt them with a dip net. LOL don't have to worry about people calling the law on ya for them thinking you are shooting near there house. I just have a hard time hunting animals that follow me around like a pet.

They know docks and fishing boats are safer places to hang out than in undeveloped coves.

We have several pairs visit our dock regularly. Call them all Lunch and Dinner. My labs love to jump in after them and they calmly swim away.

I have been feeding those 2 ducks all late fall and winter, they will come up to the boat if you have some crackers or bread and eat right out of your hand. They will not eat a shad though.

Hope posting this is OK (not trying to get off topic) just thought it kinda related to the topic I have a couple spots where a pair of ducks seem to wait for me. It always seems that after you feed them, I catch a striper. Then they start to get on my nerves and a good blast from the wash down hose ends our rendezvous.
