Weather: Mostly sunny, 46 degrees at daybreak to mid 70s, light variable wind. Water: 68-71 degrees. A little stained in some places, others 2-3 feet clarity. Method: Gizzard peanuts to dollar bills, free lined on planers, mostly on the bank side. Hours fished: 8:00-2:00 Got all my stuff done on Friday so that I could put in some water time yesterday. Weather was great, although I froze my butt off in my bathing suit and sweatshirt until the sun got up over the trees. I have to get wet to launch the kayak, so this time of year I either freeze with no waders in the morning, or I burn up in the waders later in the day. Traffic wasn't too bad for a weekend, mostly bass masters zipping around. Bait was EVERYWHERE! Finding some bigger bait among the masses was challenging without getting the little guys hung in the net, but my dollar bill spot was still producing. Even had enough to give away. Turns out most of the stripers I dealt with yesterday must have had moms who didn't teach them that it was rude to play with their food. I missed lots on pulldowns and swirls. I hooked two that came unbuttoned at the boat. The one fish I did land (except for a LMB) was the first hit of the day around 9AM, and was worth the trip.
