To anyone who puts in at magnum but hasn't been for a while. Stay to the side of the ramp closest to the gas pumps. The other side has a HUGE hole in it.
Our boat and trailer bottomed out so hard it's a miracle nothing broke. Trailer was stuck on the upturned slab of concrete.
Beware and pass the word. This has the potential to ruin someone's day.

Shadslinger and I used the Magnum ramp Saturday. Shadslinger was quick to point out the grand canyon at the end of the ramp before I dumped the boat in. You'd think for 200.00 a year they would provide a better product.....

Yep
at a minimum mark the ramp with a warning or get a shovel and some gravel and fill the thing up.
I know the owner has been on here before but don't know if they still get on.

Quack did you go inside and talk to them about it? I'll go in there this weekend and see what kind of plan they got. I honestly dont see it getting fixed though. There is a hole right next to the dock too. Allot smaller though and has a cinderblock in it for the tires to roll across. Hitting the middle of the ramp is probably the best option.

he came over after we got backed in. I didn't catch much of the conversation but I don't think there is any intent to fix it.
Somebody is gonna break something. If they haven't already.

Just a heads up. I talked with the folks at magnum. They are currently talking with AEP about the permits and what's involved with fixing the ramp. This will take some time because of all that's involved in redoing it but they are looking into it.
I've also heard from a couple different sources that the crafts church ramp will be redone this winter. Just hear say but that would be nice.
I'd like to see a public ramp put in somewhere off of 40 between penhook and union hall myself. We need better access to the upper bw side.
