We found out over the weekend by the game warden at sml that runing them on sml was a big no no lol. We habe been using it at lesville and the rivers with no problems. Funny thing is after got pulled over we seen them go and cut all there lights off and hide.

It's funny how that works, isn't it? They can break the very same law they are trying to enforce on us. I was out one night and had my ball cap hanging on the rear light, to cut down the glare. Got checked by a warden & was told it was illegal to do that. He gave me a verbal warning. Sometime later (same summer), got checked again by a different warden, and I asked him about it. He said it was OK to have a cap on the light as long as it was not blocking 100%. So, go figure....

We had navigation lights on. And a led spot light bar on. They said can't use light bar. The light bar helps us see logs at lesville lake and on the river. But yet. When they was done with us they went and head and cut all there lights off. Oh well we will continue to use it where there is trash in the water.

the issue is that with your LED light bar on, when meeting other traffic you will...
a) blind other boater coming at you - or at least disrupt their night vision b) your light bar likely overpowers your nav lights to where others can't see your red/green and thus be able to tell which way you are coming - straight, from left or right, etc
Same goes for all the deck boats and pontoons out on the lake that run their "headlights" (aka docking lights) -
I understand the log/timber issue and desire to run some additional lights to avoid - we've run hand-held spots held over and below the gunnel to scan the water when its an issue - but as soon as you see another set of nav lights then you should turn off the spots....
