Ok I have been swamped since getting back from the bay so just now getting around to posting my after christmas report.
As you know from previous reports the weekend after christmas was rough! We rolled onto the eastern shore thursday afternoon and the seas were so bad no one had been out. They were calling for the winds to lay some and be 1-2 footers out there friday morning. We rolled up to Chris's friday morning first thing and grabbed 18 eels and hit the water. Banged 2 fish before 10:00 and then not a bite the rest of the day until about 4:00 then we boated 3 more. We ended the day with 5 fish between 37" and 46". The 46" being a released citation. Kept the 2 smallest fish for some of Mike wards awesome pancake nuggets.
5 fish that day was awesome cosidering all the people I talked to that did not catch a fish.
Saturday we got on the water with some rain and 1-3 footers. I thought for sure we would catch fish and be able to fish until about 3:00 before the winds would make it unfishable. I was wrong. Around 11:15 we were up out from cherry stone with no bites and decided to pull everything in and move back down towards the ships and fish until we had to get off the water. What a ride. It souped up so bad by the time we got back down to the ships we decided to go ahead and put it on the trailer. Turned out to be the right call. Dewayne and Kenny both followed me in. It got really bad out there. I enjoyed the last fishing of the bay season for 2012. Was a good year for fishing. Hope 2013 is full of big Fish!
