I fished this morning between oak grove and the state park. I started swimming jigs for crappies around docks and brush. I ended up catching and releasing 27 by 10am. They were all good sized, 10-13".
After letting the dog swim for a while, I started hunting for white perch. It took a bit to find the right cove, but once I located them it was on. I put 66 in the livewells in 2 hours. I released a "few" smaller ones too. They were roaming over 20' of water, about 10' deep in massive schools. They'd hit anything, as long as it was half a crawler. Actually, I did catch some on a spoon, and I had them following crankbaits to the boat on every cast, but worms did the trick.
I also caught several bass and a bunch of channel cats throughout the morning.
When I left, they were still biting like crazy. I just had no more room in my livewells. What a problem to have....

Good job. Those perch have prolly been wearing out the newly stocked stripers .
Take a big cooler next time. Lol
