Very, very little vegetation on SML - between the past spraying and then the introduction of grass crap to "control" it, you won't find much at all.

The last vegetation I've seen is in a "cut" behind the point that Penhook boat ramp is on.
To get there, just go around the point the ramp is on, to the backside of the point. Go down that part of the creek just a little, and the cut is on the right.
The vegetation was in the very back of the cut.
It's been awhile since I've been in that cut, so the vegetation may not be there anymore.
From the Penhook ramp, it only takes 5 minutes or so to get there.
SML has very little fishable vegetation, so finding any, will be pretty hard to do. If you do find any, it will probably just be sparsely scattered grass, and no lily pads.

If you were driving your boat to the Penhook Ramp, make a right instead of going on to the ramp. Follow the cut/cove down a few hundred yards and you cant miss it. In other words, it's on the same side of the shoreline as the ramp. At the back of the cove it spreads across to the other side. There is a bunch of nasty snot grass there as well.
