Just sharing my set up. I have a lowrance elite 7ti. I wanted to be able to see the screen in the front of the boat and a bigger screen is always a plus. So I linked it to my iPad with the lowrance GoFree app. I bought water proof cover and a rail mount bracket and attached it to my rail on the center console. Works great and you can even control the elite 7ti from the iPad. It's nice having a bigger map as well to see contours. Here's a pic of the setup.

That's a nice way to get an extra screen that is also usable for other things besides on the boat. And for those times when fishing is slow you can fire up a movie
