I had heard things had been slow this week from some of my friends. I decided to go out Sat. morning first light and sit on a point. After catching some cat fish, a rod that had the lightest line on it bent over and the drag start going off. After what seems like a 5 min. fight with the drag compensating for the pull. I netted a 26" fatty. I though that this going to be a good day. Nope. After another hour of cat fish, I decided to pull up and set out planers. Three hours of no takers, I decided to set up on another point. Another hour later, no takers. As I was pulling in a dead bait, I had a huge Largemouth follow it in. My guess it was at least 8+lbs.
I do not know if anyone else had this problem, but My bait was dying very quickly as I had hooked up. No problems with my tank, it reminded of the summertime. I did not even check on the WT.
I enjoyed the morn. At least the weather was better than last week.

There's always a time in late may and June when the bait doesn't want to stay alive below 20' or so. Our bait last evening stayed healthy on the hook.
