Hello everyone! As the subject says, I can't believe I never saw this forum. I have been fishing since I was a kid. Mostly been a bank fisherman due to lack of boat. Finally got a jon boat in 2011 then finally got a bass rig this past spring. ;D I've been trying to learn Smith Mountain ever since. Found this forum trying to find out about lake levels and ramps. Can't wait to see what I can learn from here. Tight lines everyone! Hope to see you on the water!

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome. Yes, striperjohn, I do fish for those green ones most of the time. Thats only because I have not had many opportunities to go after the stripers! I am open to them all! I am thinking about going out next week to try my luck. Any suggestions on where or what to throw? ;D

Hey Bassman, open the forum for Striper discussions and reports and then read some of the latest reports. The guys will tell you what they're catching them on, but not where--we all have our "secret spots" I will say when I've had a chance to get out in the past it's mostly artificials during the winter. Look for the birds they'll give the fish away.

Hi Bassman,
Glad to see there's another 'greenie' fisherman on the forums. I haven't been around long and only seriously been fishing for about 3 years. This reminds me, I guess I outa officially introduce myself as well. Anyway, I'll be glad to share whatever I learn about the lake with ya as I learn myself.
