This one's hard to believe ( and I was there!!). Some of you may have seen my posts that I have recently got a boat after many years off and am fishing with my fiancé. You may also know I fished B.A.S.S. tournaments for years (though now looking more for stripers). Soo, I took her fishing a couple weeks ago, and believe it or not, this is the first bass she ever caught in her life!!! Bad part is she had no concept of how big a bass this really is and now doesn't understand why we don't catch these every time we go And really bad news is I had no scale and no way to measure length before we released her, though it was surely a citation! I have both now!
Fat free shad slow cranking a main point... Would have posted earlier but just got set up to post pics. I'll do another post on my night fishing last week.

Wow, amazing catch. that bass has to be around 8-lbs give or take. i would guess. and probably around 25 inches...its a hell of a first bass, thats for sure...
the bass looks like a post spawn female, so that explains her being hungry. she may have been pushing 10-lbs with a belly full of eggs...

You'll never live that one down. Every fishing trip from here on won't measure up. Ask me how I know lol.

That's a great bass startingover. Congrats to your fiancé. Now you better get busy, might take a little while to top that one.

What a great fish. You definitely know how to treat a lady. I'm w/ johnr - you're gonna have a tuff time living up to this.

thanks guys... She's also caught some stripers and I still need to post that report. See, MY big plan was get a starter boat, get her to catch some nice fish, and then work it out that we are having so much fun on the lake that we really need a bigger boat. The clear flaw in my plan was not accounting for woman's logic. In MY mind we could have more room and more enjoyment in a bigger boat. In HER mind "we're catching so many fish in this one why do we need a bigger boat?" ugh...I really want to make the "wouldn't you like a bigger ring although there's nothing wrong with the on you have" argument...but that could cost me a bloody fortune!!
Guess we'll keep catching big fish in a little boat for a while.
