The dogs let me sleep in till nearly 630 am today, and since everyone else was still asleep and the rain wasn't bad, I headed out to catch some crappies. I spent the first hour or so searching for new stuff to fish and eating breakfast. Once I found some, it was on. Flipping small jigs was the ticket. Caught fish on and under docks, shallow on brush, deep on brush and even sight fished some on their beds. Wasn't many worth keeping, most were right at 9". Managed 8 over 10" for dinner. Caught a few dozen total.
Water was 70 and fairly clear. Mid Roanoke. It rained.

Nice catching in the rain. Last couple of trips I had loaded a couple crappie rods and jigs in the boat. Figured if stripers got slow I would switch over. Just hard for me to switch over after spending time catching bait.
