If they are it looks like they are swimming right along with your boat.

I am thinking trees laying on the bottom. There Might be a fish or two in there as well. If you see something like that in the future switch over to downscan and see what it looks like.. You could of also bumped up your sensitivity on your sonor to check it out as well..

He's going 0.9 mph so don't think it's trees that continuous that long.
I second switching to downscan to get another view of they are right undsrbyiu like those look to be.
Feel like they are a swimming beast of some sort - could be carp, catfish or striper. Don't think they are shad at that speed but might be

I'm going with fish of some kind. I'm guilty of thinking that whatever I'm fishing for is what I am marking. So I'll just leave it at fish, especially considering what you sonar was marking at same time. Keeping in mind the speed your boat is moving is crucial when interpreting down and side scan. Last week I was stationary fishing for crappie so the bottom and brush was blurring. However when moving fish went under the boat I was getting some really neat images.

Does anyone else prefer laying out sidescan and normal scan ina Top/Bottom configuration? I have always felt having the sidescan be wider would give better definition. My go to layout is downscan top left - normal scan top right and sidescan across the entire bottom of my screen layout.

Those stripes are certainly fish IMO, and like others have said, they are either swimming with you, or you were setting right over top of them, stationary. I have some nice sidescan shots of stripers that I will put up here. Very difficult to see what species you are looking at on sidescan, so if you were catching channels that may very well be what we are looking at.

Yes - ideally you want as much horizontal screen real-estate as possible for side-scan so that you allocate as many pixels as you can to represent the data you care about - the side-to-side data. For sonar or downacan you want as many vertical pixels as you can allocate.

It was just in one area.

Pile of bait under and to the right: Bait and stripers. Can easily see the streaking stripers in the right beam: One of the coolest SS shots that I have seen and been able to verify by catching a small striper. These are schoolies going after bait. You can clearly see the difference between the moving and stationary fish:
