My son and I are at Smith Mountain Lake for the next 3 days hoping to catch some smallies and LMB. We are staying near the dam on the south side of the lake. We fished today from about 4pm to 8pm. We tried some of the rocky shores and docks around Craddock Creek area, but no luck. We tried jerk baits, jigs/crawfish trailer, texas rig craw, drop shot and wacky rig senkos. We caught a couple small LMB near the docks after sunset. Any suggestions for locations, baits would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I had good luck yesterday eve and this evening with LM after the BiG Bass guys got off the water in the shady areas throwing a shadow rap and square bill crank on the back sides of points and off the ends of blow downs. The later it got I started noticing bass moving up to the shore crusing. Started throwing senko on shakey head wacky rigged with success. Look up the creeks/rivers in slightly stained water. This evening they really turned on and I actually caught 5 different species including a nice flathead that was caught on the crank.
Best of luck and hope this helps.
