Since there is a Big BASS tournament this weekend at SML with over 500 boats entered I was looking to possibly take a young family member out to Philpott fishing. He is new to fishing and I personally have never been to Philpott so any input you guys could give to make our trip a bit more enjoyable would be great. I plan on obviously fishing for some LM but we may also tie on some Lindy rigs and shad raps and pull some ledges for Walleye. Where to put in? Areas of lake to target or avoid?
Thanks in advance.

We always put in at Twin Ridge, that's about middle of the lake. Fishing at Philpott has been tough most of the times that we have gone there.

Thanks Greg. I've heard it can be tough there but I'm sure it won't be as bad as SML with 500+ boats zipping around and Buggs Island is a bit farther than we want to travel Sat. I will be sure to post an update After our trip to let anyone interested know how it was.

I like the Ryans Branch ramp this time of year. Up river...way up river is the ticket from that ramp imo
