Mward and I played around for a couple hours Sat while the tournament was going on. The tournament takes too much of our time generally to run it and fish it, but we wanted to get out for a short time mid morning anyways. We got about 10 or so and fished some random spots nobody else would be at and nailed a 35.5" right off the bat, but struck out after that. We did load up 35ish mongos to take home. Headed in to the check in about 1. Water was running 49/51.
3/21 - Got out this evening after work for a quick trip before sunset. Grabbed some mongos and hit a creek to see what was going on. The action was intense, but the bites were few. Lots of rolls and blow ups by what looked like good fish, but I could only get one 37" to commit. Water temp spiked up to 55 this evening. Next few weeks should be special - I definitely think there's some 30+lbers getting ready to show themselves. The fishery is doing pretty well if we can get some young fish in the system.
