Anyone have this TM? My wife got me one for christmas ;D And I have a couple questions. The wife talked me into keeping the bass boat to fish out of and to leave the pontoon alone So now I have the Power Drive and was debating on putting it on the ranger. I have read that the electronic steer is slower than a cable drive TM. Has anyone used an electric steer to fish in and around docks and cover? I am going to setup the ranger for multi species and will be fishing some bass tournaments but like the remote function of the co piolit for striper fishing. Any thoughts or insight?

You can also add a pedal for when you are bass fishing on the now and want to keep both hands free. It probably does turn slower than the mechanical cable drive.

Mytoyzfishing, I have used MK Powerdrive motors for years and have been very happy with them. The turning speed isn't as fast as cable driven but I think you will get used to it and like it. I use both a foot pedal and the Co-Pilot remote. One major advantage to the PD unit is that you can buy two quick detach brackets and use the motor on the Ranger and the Pontoon. This past year a friend of mine and I made our own upper mount and mounted an anchor pulley on it. During striper season on the river, we take the trolling motor off and slid this unit in. This setup allows us to anchor in river current directly off the front of the boat. I think you will be pleased with the PD unit.

Cool thanks for the input and info. It comes standard with the foot pedal and she ordered the co-piolit with it. I was planing on using the pedal while bass fishing and remote while striper fishing. The slower steering was the only concern when bass fishing in around docks ant trees.
