Thanks!

My buddy Jerry has been fishing that lake pretty regularly and said that he has been catching 2-3 lbers. pretty regularly. Look for em stacked up on 25-30' bottom, transitions and structure. When the sun is out once the water hits mid 50's or so you can catch em in the shallows.

What is he catching them that deep on? Drop shot, spoon, etc?

Haha I appreciate the intel even if it comes with some ribbing. I'm heading down tomorrow night to prefish Friday and Saturday for a tourney on Sunday so just looking for a little head start to save some time!

Those strike king xd are some of my favorites for trolling up fat toad bass in early summer.

Just depends on water clarity. If you're fishing lower lake then natural shad colors for sure. In stained water, you can throw some of your brighter colors like chartreuse or orange/craw patterns.

Fishing down here in north carolina I have caught a lot on texas rigged senkos but me and my dad usually fish carolina rigs up there but if it warms up try a floating tricks worm but i do doubt it will warm up.

not all the bass spawn at the same time. water temps probably need to be upwards of 55 degrees or more before they really start. there may be some limited pre-spawn going on now, but one of the tell tell signs in VA is if the dogwoods are blooming then the bass are spawning...
