Do the big striper run back into the Bay in April/May for a spring spawn?
I'm really wanting to make a trip up there this year but I don't know Jack about fishing the bay or really even much about saltwater for that matter. We got an upgraded ride for the spring so I am wanting to test out some larger waters this year...hopes are to find a way to do a bay trip, a big drum trip, and maybe a king trip. But that's just the hopes...

So I've been doing a little reading and it looks like maybe(?) it's against the rules to striper fish the bay in spring before mid April? But that the big fish in the winter move in about thanksgiving?

I am not sure about it being legal or not, but i have read that the school size fish stick around year round... I am certain that there are some big one's that hang out year round as well. We go in December usually, this year did not make it as i heard that a lot of the fish stayed up north (what i was told) I have never been to the bay in the spring/summer but man those spade fish look like fun. We catch them off the coast of SC..
