I was supposed to do this in December but never got around to it as I was fishing too much.... figured I'd better clean her up before it's time to slime her up catching Spring Gizzards

Looks good. You need a brown boat not a white one.

I love the padded carpet on my sled but keeping it clean is a chore. There are days I wish I had hard decks. Being able to pull up in the carwash and hose everything down is a real luxury. Just sayin' . . .
Dunno about them pack stickers tho'. Geaux Tigers!

One of my main reasons for going with the boat I did was to remove the whole cleaning thing out of my life....no more white gelcoat and non-skid decks for me and everything is raised off the deck and a couple of 5 gallon buckets of water splashed on the deck cleans it right up and washes everything right overboard ;-)

Oh, you'll still be getting out the scrub brush or power washer from time to time - the dirt that comes up with cast nets and gizzard slime makes a powerful stuff that dirties up anything - even that lightly textured vinyl floor just does not totally rinse off of that stuff. Oh and then there is the pollen.... Speaking of pollen - I could not believe that I was seeing pollen floating on the water earlier this week. That's not supposed to come till April. Fortunately no pollen boogers on my lines though. But I agree it at least won't look as dirty as quick I now understand why some boats are that tan color - they probably were originally white

Yeah - I simplified it a little bit but so far keeping the new boat clean vs the old boat is definitely a night and day difference. I spend 15-20 minutes scrubbing at the end of a weekend now vs 1-2 hours on the old bayboat.
The key is throwing those buckets of water on the boat as soon as I am done throwing the cast net before the dirt and slime has a chance to dry and dig in.

Mine gets cleaned twice a year wether it needs it or not You're right about the benefit of a quick dousing early after catching bait though.....

That sounds like I how I treat my car - cleaned twice per year. For some reason I have a complex about keeping my boat clean that I don't have with my car.

Do you treat the decks with woody wax or fluid film to hopefully make the yearly washdown easier?

Do you treat the decks with woody wax or fluid film to hopefully make the yearly washdown easier? I've not - probably should. I have used some StarBrite Deck Cleaner with PTEF in the past that is supposed to help but ran out of that a while back. I've heard good things about Woody Wax - but not ever heard of using FluidFilm on fiberglass boat decks - know it for treatment of undercarriages and other metal stuff.... does FluidFilm leave things non-slip?

I can't tell the difference between Woody Wax and Fluid Film, so I use Fluid Film now because it's less expensive. Woody Wax could be a little slippery if you over-did it. I assume Fluid Film can be the same, but I figured out how much to use back when I used WW.

Tell me more - do you pour on and spread around with a brush? Other than on-line where can you find FluidFilm?
