Muskie 2/12

Here's a nice muskie we snagged by accident back a couple weeks ago up lake. I don't remember the exact measurements right off hand, but it was a citation size. It hit a pretty good size gizzard right on the bank. I told my buddy I thought it was a musky when it hit bc of how it acted and sure enough it ended up being one. It actually came off midway through the fight then came back and hit whatever was left of the bait again and I got hooked up again. They definitely fight weird - more like a flathead than a striper - all hell breaks loose at the boat. Somehow we got it in the landing net before it broke us off. It had another line in its throat so someone wasn't as lucky as us a few days before. Snapped a couple pictures and released it back safely.

Funny I went into Sportsmans a couple days later to buy some terminal tackle and 2-3 people came up to me and asked if I was the guy that caught that big Muskie "Yeah - how'd you know?" "Facebook!". Leave it to mward to have it live on FB before we even rebait the rod (and he wasn't even with us!).

Nice fish... They definitely don't show any fear when they decide to eat something.

Bent rod I would just love to fillett that Bait !! & love your dog !! My kind of fishing buddy right there !! Had one that If I moved she wanted to be there !! She Was a Huskiee !!
