Hales Ford to Beaverdam. 9am-4pm I used to fish a LOT but have taken many years off. Kids are grown, and I finally got another boat last week. A Procraft fish and ski, better than nothing. Took it out Sunday to see what I could find. Girlfriend has never been fishing so there was lots to learn, and re-learn. lol. Good news is...boat ran well and I actually remembered how to throw a net. Bad news.. We couldn't find any bait:( . Keep in mind it's been a while so I may have names wrong, but this is what they used to be. I went to the back of Campers, Fox, Indian, Jumping run. Never saw the first shad near the surface. Maybe still too cold? I threw quite a few times but never had any luck. Found some warm water in the old Yacht club cove, almost 53. Everywhere else more like 47-49. We tried throwing a bucktail and a spinner on some windy points, but no takers. At least we got out and got our feet wet so to speak. She learned how to drive the boat and use a baitcaster. She also learned how to get a birds nest out of one. Except for the fishing, a good day!
Would greatly appreciate any advice. Have read through the forums as I used to check in here often and have learned a lot. We only have 2 rods and 1 planer so we're not going to do much damage!! I'm just hoping she can catch at least one. Maybe if she does I can get a bigger boat!! good luck!!
