HI everyone. I'll be moving to Surry Virginia before summer and I'll be looking to do some great fly fishing. I'm primarily a stillwater trout fisherman but I also dabble in striper fishing in the salt. I also tie my own flies. My wife also likes to fly fish. We both enjoy canoeing and kayaking. I am involved in Scottish cultural activities here in Maine. I've been in maine for 10 years and spent 30 years in Alaska.
I've been fly fishing for about 16 years. I got sarted fishing out of a canoe. I'm not a huge fan of stream fishing. As I get older I find it harder and harder to wade in rocky streams. I much prefer to fish in my canoe or float tube on a small lake or pond.
I've looking at Smith Lake and it looks like a fantastic place to fish.
