Matthew, Dad, and I tried out the musky fishing on the New River for the first time this year. We put in at peppers ferry around 6:30 and started down stream. No sign of fish until around 8:30 when a nice one smoked a top water plug that dad was throwing. Soon after that fish I had a nice fish follow and hit right at the boat but didn't hook up on a single blade bucktail. No sign of fish for the rest of the day.

Man... You guys are rocking it this year! I have never heard of anyone who goes and tries their luck at musky fishing and actually catches one!
Beautiful fish!

Nice fish. You never know what they are going to do on those follows. Is the water still pretty clear?

Nice fish. You never know what they are going to do on those follows. Is the water still pretty clear? Super clear and way down. That is the way the James was crystal clear to the bottom. Past experience for us you get more follows but a little stain seems to pick up the bite.
