Muskie fishing on the James River. The day was slow with one follow and my sons first fish caught on the figure eight. We were using hell hounds fished pretty slow. Seemed like the river was dead not much wildlife to be seen at all. Thanks to the advice from this forum Santa brought us all new life jackets.

Muskie fishing seems to me to be the ultimate fishing endeavor. It epitomizes the sentiment, "if it were easy, it would be no fun!"
Congratulations on the hard earned reward! Absolutely beautiful.

I have to agree it is a lot of fun and when you least expect it one shows up. Always neat how much of a predator they are. They have no fear to approach the boat, that one circled around while he figured 8 at least 5 times with the rod tip in the water.
