well i fished at leesville yesterday. bait was super tough. only had 8 shad for almost 4 hours of net throwing. minus the 30 min. repair job on the net. fished from about 2:30-5pm. only boated 2 small fish, lost 2 at the boat, and broke off a fish under the boat.all fish came on down lines.nothing on planers or floats.i guess its time for one of you good fishermen to teach me about jig fishing for stripers. water was high yesterday, water temp was 55 when i quit. it was more like going net throwing than going fishing.

I'm by far no expert, but have caught fish both ways. BigJon and Leo can vouch for my trolling teacher. Some folk say it aint no skill to it and to a point it aint really....until you get to running 8 rods or more behind the boat... ;D
