This was posted over on Facebook and I thought I'd post it here as it comes from a long-time forum member who's seem to have forgotten the URL..... I post this not as a pat of the back for Tyler, Nathan or myself, but for all of you who participated and were a part of this. When you have a competition with over $9000 in cash & prizes being awarded you expect at some point for issues to arise - but thus far (knock on wood) we have not, and that is a testament to the integrity & sportsmanship of all of you that participate - and he's spot-on about the generosity from you all as well when it came to the donations for little Chloe as well as other things we'd done in the past of a similar vein....
Although I didn't fish the tournament, my wife and I did come up to watch the check, spend some time together and to see friends we haven't seen in a while. As I watched the number of teams climb and climb before the big day I knew it would be something to see. I can see from the side lines the time and effort spent to pull off such an event. It is clear that much thought was given to the check in process to not only keep everyone honest but to allow the catches to be returned as quickly and healthy as possible. Kudos to the Striper Mafia for your time and hard work to make the event successful but most of all to all of the teams that competed.
We were there from long before check in till after clean up and every one of you were first class sportsmen! Great attitudes and a great bunch of folks. We watched tickets being sold for the 50/50 for little Chloe, guys would ask for one ticket till they found out what it was for then drop a $20 bill in a split second. One angler handed someone his raffle tickets and said if he won to give it to little Chloe. Whoever you are that won the 50/50 for Chloe and turned your winnings right back to her, that is what its all about. To those of you who brought the kids, it was great to see their smiles and to have them there to see such camaraderie and sportsmanship will go far to making them responsible adults.
Thanks to you all for a first class evening of entertainment and a thick smell of shad slime in the air!
