Thanks for everyone's advice on the filters. Yesterday my water stayed good and clear combining different filters that different people people recommended. Cleaned filters every hour and my tank water was clean and cool! Something that was odd though was the baits got red nosed easily. Now I normally fish when it's a lot colder so maybe that was it? I have a 40 gallon baker with the spray bar and there was about 2 dozen 7" gizzards which to me isn't overloaded? So I am going to do something I have thought about a lot. I am going to change my spray bar to this www.danncollc.com/Images/LBRV.gifI assume you're supposed to make the penetration to the tank about 1/2 way up? It may come with instructions but others input/advice would be great! Correction: I think I need the LRV-8 due to the thickness of the tank. www.danncollc.com/Images/RonVestConvert.gif

You want the "8" regardless of thickness but for the flow in a 40 gal tank. The "8" and a 500 gph pump is perfect in a 40
Here are a couple of videos i made last year on the Dannco

The lower you can put the dannco the better. I actually moved my hockeypuck discharge on my super tank to the lowest point possible with no 90 degree fittings between the pump and dannco.

I agree with this - the lower in the tank the longer the dwell time of the bubbles to transfer oxygen into the water. And the less turns in your plumbing the lower the head back pressure on the pump and the better flow / more induced air. With an existing tank you just then have to close up the existing hole between the bait and filter side in some fashion.

I will have to take a look when I get it. Since mine still has the spray bar I'm making the hole in mine so I'll get it low! Do you recommend the bulkhead model or the other?

I would go with the in line model. If your baker is like mine, chances are the wall is so thick you will have to order a extra long through hull fitting from eBay or something. That's what I had to do.

Yea, I haven't measured but I'll bet it's 1 1/2-2" thick easy. So if I install the inline model, I will still have to drill a hole but it looks slightly different like otc parts that I can use to get through the thick wall. I'll get better clarification from them when I call and order tomorrow. Shad, if possible can you share a picture of your conversion since our tanks are the same manufacturer?

Yeah I'll see what I can come up with. It's full of water and bait right now. I'll try and get you some asap.

I found some old pictures from when I first done it. I cut the end of the through hull fitting off and screwed a pvc cap on with a hole drilled in the side. This allows you to direct the flow down the side of the tank instead of straight in which beats on your baits.

This is helpful. Thank you very much. I'll post mine after completion. I am going to do the inline model since the tank is so thick.

Wanted to give an update on my tank. Called dannco Monday, by Wednesday my part was at my door! Great experience there. I then installed the Venturi and new line. My tank walls are thick like shads are. I cut a 3/4 stainless nipple to go through the wall of the tank. Overall the installation was really easy and quick. Hopefully it will be full of good bait next weekend.

That's exactly how I have mine except I eliminated the 90 degree elbow and reused the hockey puck discharge from the keep alive system. The vinyl tubing fits right over top if it.
I was able to keep circular flow and felt like it didn't beat and knock the scales off with a straight discharge into the tank. Having said that I ran mine the way you have yours now for several months without issue. As long as she's throwing good bubbles let her eat.
