Bass fishing

Hey Guys! Long time no talk. I'm back in the area for a couple weeks trying my luck at bass fishing again.

We got here a week ago and I have had a very hard time finding any bass. Has anyone had any luck finding bass recently?

I've tried docks and laydowns both off the main channel as well as back in some of the coves and have not really found anything. Fishing with crankbaits, spinnerbaits, buzzbaits, spooks, lipless crank, senkos and shakey heads.

Mostly fishing around the state park/ Walton creek area, but have ventured up above hales ford bridge a couple times as well as headed south towards the black water side without much luck.

Its been tough out, at least for me. Shad are moving a lot and the bass are moving with them. Once the weather stabilizes I would focus on fishing the larger feeder creeks. Just an fyi, I fished a small tournament saturday during the storm. It was won by a guy catching em in water less than 3ft, but on the flip side I caught fish as deep as 20ft. They are out there just takes some searching, find the bait and bass wont be far. Good luck.
