We are heading to Nags head September 17th-24th. I am debating taking my Hydra-sports 21' skiff. I have been down there a good bit but always in a kayak. Could anyone give me advice on where to fish in my boat. I know the sound can be tricky with it's shallow water in areas. Thanks in advance.

If you are going out of Oregon Inlet, some years ago we had very good luck on the outgoing tide under the bridge. Big grey trout on cut bait and shrimp mostly. Don't cut any corners when coming from the sound, we ran aground one time ....hard on props and lower units. This past spring we had good luck off the little bridge for speckle trout around sunrise and sunset. Look up www.fishing-nc.com/nc-surf-fishing-reports.php they have good reports. May year before last I caught a 36'' striper out of the surf on a 1 oz. buck tail. I am heading down in Sept. after labor day, but not sure of the date yet.
