Haven't posted here in awhile. Been spending most of my time fishing the salt water. The big drum have moved into the Neuse River. My son, Jack, caught his first one this past weekend. At 48 lbs, a nice fish. Caught on a popping cork on a 4000 series reel they provide some challenging, and arm aching, fishing.

Went back and fished this am. Caught 3 lost one. Had a double header! Jack brought a friend and I think they had fun.

Mike, the best is yet to come. Got a full moon coming and if we get a hard NE wind they should bite hard. Will catch them thru the end of Sept.

Went back for the drum and had some pretty good fishing. These fish pull hard and will rip some drag off the spinning reels.. Fish this weekend ranged from 37" to 48" Had some pretty cool tail markings... The weather was good too.. These fish are beautiful too.. All lived to see another day..

Yellowdog....if you every need any assistance of any kind whatsoever on or off the water let me know. I would love to pick your brain about where/how you continually catch absolute brute sized drum

I love finding a "pumpkin patch" where you can see the whole school finning on top!
