Guys, here's a little tid-bit I'm throwing out to you, just as food for thought if nothing else. I have heard many folks over the years talk about finding a school of feeding Stripers one day, and finding the same school the next day, but they couldn't get a bite. Very aggraviting to say the least. There is a the reason for this: Stripers only feed when their stomachs are empty, and they are very hungry. When they do feed, they will gorge themselves until thier stomachs can't hold any more. It takes approximately 36 hours for the striper to digest their last meal, so you will have about a day and a half before the same school will want to feed again. So, if you get on the same school the day after a feed, your probably going to have a hard time catching them. Fortunately, the different schools feed at different times around the lake, so there is usually hungry stripers around somewhere. Some of the larger creeks will also contain more than one school of Stripers. One of the advantages of fishing for shallow Stripers with artificials, is that if you can find them shallow, it's because they have the feed-bag on. That's usually the only reason you will find them shallow, and it's a very good time to take advantage of it. Also, Stripers prefer to feed under low-light conditions, when they come shallow. Fishing before the sun comes up, and after the sun goes down, is the mostly likely time they will come up. Right now, the best time to fish (at least for me) with artificials is from 10:00 PM to 4:00 AM I hope this info helps someone along the way.

In August, due to the high water temps during the days and heavy boat traffic, stripers feed pretty heavy at night again. For me, rock bluffs are a good place to fish.... the one across from and just below 27 has always been very good to me in late july and august.

Bigun....your absolutely right about fishing the bluffs at night. I have a few of my own favorite ones, and they can be very productive.
