Put in a Moormans Sun around 2:00, bait was pretty easy to get. Fished till 4:45 put 3 in the boat from 8-12 lbs and still got to church on time. Marked a lot of fish about 20ft down, never saw a fish bust. Ramp is barely usable because of the water level. We need rain badly, but enough to bring the lake up will muddy the creeks for a couple of weeks.

Any idea if Moormans is as shallow as Hardy? How far by road is Moormans past Hardy? I do just what you said. I get out of church fish Claytor for a few hours and get back for night service. Last week we got in the fish real good about 4 p.m. My son had to be at church at 5:30 to set up the service on the overhead. We got him there just on time. After church the youth pastor, who is an avid fisherman, told me that he smelled striper the entire service. ;D

Shark, you can't get there from here. Mormans is off of RT. 24 take 24 through Vinton to the stop light at Stewartsville, take a right, follow to Mormans on right. It is a ways down there, but about the same as getting to Hardy from town.

We put out from Hardy yesterday, Hit bottom with the motor trimmed alway up. Caught 9 after dark, throwin jigs to points from tennis courts back to Moorman. 4 were under slot, 5 in the slot, up to 10 lbs. Saw breakin fish before dark in tressle cove, could not get bit there.

I kinda thought that was the case about getting to Moormans. We hit bottom getting back into Hardy on Saturday night. Saturday before last we watch a couple older guys in a jon boat, slay the crappie in tressle cove. They were having a blast. Sounds like you had a good evening.

Mormans to hardy is about a 12min ride... i know this bc the 5 mins it takes to get mormans from my house i have to drive another 12 to get to hardy to launch... theres not water there. And ive only seen jon boats launching there. I cant get mine off the trailer there.. Time to get back in the lift slip.
If you want to get to hardy from mormans. You cut across turner branch rd. Both ramps are roughly the same distance coming from vinton. U just go different ways
