So I had the boat prepped and ready to go for early this morning, woke up at 4am in hopes of getting on water by 5 to catch some bait before light. I woke up...downed a cup of coffee....hopped in the truck...started it up.....and then it just hit me....my 5 year old and 9 year old boy's woke up early with me last weekend, and my youngest was able to catch (help reel) his first striper...it just didn't feel the same going with out them today. So I decided to head back inside and wait (hopefully) tomorrow he will get out of bed and go with me. Made an executive decision to fix myself a bloody mary, and put my dry rub on a brisket to get ready to put into the smoker around noon today!!! So while I have no report today, I wanted to share my sons new passion for our beloved sport AT ONLY 5 YEARS OLD!!!!!! It makes me feel good as a father this weekend to be able to share my love for the sport, as well as hunting with him as well as my 9 year old which they both are in love with! Last weekend we went out on the water at 6 had our first fish on board at 7... a 32" 14# healthy fish! LAST weekend 5/11 WT 78-79 clear and Hotttttt. Ice cream at bridge water back home by 12. 1st pic is the fish on board getting ready to go on ice...second pic is yesterday of Mason, after getting his new fishing/camo hat. Im one proud daddy!!!

You are one lucky guy to have two young boys who want to go fishing with you. I remember when my children were that age and would go fishing with me. Those were the happiest days of my life. Once the grow up they find good jobs a thousand or more miles away and you hardly ever see them again. Appreciate these days they are indeed precious.

I will 2nd that striperseeker. They do grow up fast. Some of my best fishing memories are with my kids. Cherish those moments. They will be over before you know what happened.
