Putting this in Striper section, although, I was fishing for ANYTHING.
Left the ramp on Friday at 7:30ish. Headed straight down to trussle for bait. Caught nice bait in a timely manner. Filled both my live wells with water and had the aerator going for both. After 30 minutes, transferred the shad from first tank to second tank. The slime was so thick. Drained the first tank while in route to R65.
Started out with the first one one float.
Noticed the front navigation light was not working. Repaired 30 minutes.
Set out three down lines.
Noticed my foot pedal switch on trolling motor was not working. Was able to use the side switch for continuous power.
Worked the area till 1:30am with only one pull down, no hook up. Could see the fish on sonar, looked nice.
Had done a second transfer of bait to the original live well with new water and aeration earlier. Very high mortality rate.
Pulled in lines, no live bait, and worked banks with the redfin. No luck.
Called it a day/night.
Did not see any boat on rocks at marker R87 as stated in news. MayBe it was way up river, and they referenced that marker since there are no more up river?
Peace out....

Another example of why we need speed limits in areas, especially at night.

Is that right at the shoal, there as you are coming up from the trussels?
I thought that there was someone anchored, fishing there.

I personally talked to the 2 guyd that picked the people up and they said the 3 people were walking and real scared but wasnt visible of any major injurys. They were headin back to the public ramp at hardy and just lost there site but didnt slow down i guess. They were very lucky.
