I started the evening out with the intentions of fishing for stripers, I caught a bunch of small shad, put them in the bait tank and within 5 min. my air pump quit. So my shad started to die. So i went to plan B, Cat fishing. I anchored in 15 feet of water, in the back of a small cove, I baited up 4 rods with dead shad, Carolina rigged. about 7:30 the cats started biting. I caught one small channel cat 3 lbs, then a 8 pound channel , the 3erd fish nailed the shad and I reeled in a 28 inch Striper, Things died down for about an hour, then I had another rod get doubled over, and I reeled in a 30 inch, 16 pound channel cat. Im not sure if the weight is accurate because my scale hangs up every now and then. I decided to call it quits for the night. For those of you that like to know the conditions, WT 81, wind light and variable, clear sky.
