Not much to tell, but, here we go:
Arived at the ramp at 4ish a.m.. Went looking for bait, went in around Bay Rock. Saw some lights on in the boats, so, I didn't throw the net for fear of waking people up. Treat them as I wanted treated, right? Come to realize that there are NO dock lights on that side of the lake. Motored down to the big trussle, was able to catch the biggest shad that I have ever caught, 10/12"! The only problem, I wanted small shad. Was able to net three dozen 6" shad. Took the big ones for a ride as back ups.
Started to get light....
Started pulling around Mormans, two down lines, one bankside planer and a float. Nothing bit. Heard breaking fish out in the middle, right in the debris fields... Motored close enough to figure that the carp? we're fooling around.
Motored to the mouth of Beaver Dam. Started pulling the same minus the planer. Pulled all the way to marker BE-5. Decided to pull back out on the other side, where the shade was. Had to move at a faster pace due to the increase of boat traffic. Almost made it to the other side when a down line started to scream. Fish fought harder than any other this year. Fat 26", shocked me, but, was tickled to death. Released with plenty of energy, didn't weigh, just measured. It was 10:00am.
Worked the bank back out to the mouth and called it a day.
Released the large shad back where I found them. Only one out of eight had a red nose. They had Plenty of energy, I have eaten crappies smaller than they were.
Boat traffic was picking up. Was 12ish when I pulled out.
Peace out.....

The carp have been getting busy here lately. We must have a VERY health carp population...

The carp I saw thur. looked to be good size. I was thinking later in the heat of summer I might try to catch a few after I get my striper limit. Of course i would release them (carp). I saw that other countries have a big following for carp fishing. Might get a good tug.

These were in 30'+ of water. Right in the debris field of trash, sticks, pollen and stuff. Thought for a bit that it was otter or beaver. Never saw shad schools or anything. Dark in color and playing with each other. A bass boat casted on them prior my arrival. If they are reading this, what do you think that they were?

Most likely was carp - we saw them rolling all over the place down lake on Sat am. Saw a few busting and they swam to the boat - easily 30 swam right up to and under the boat in a big group.
