It's tough deciding what to fish for these days. I was torn between walleyes, stripers and crappies this morning. The decision was easy though, I left my worms at home so instead of making a right turn towards some walleyes, I hung a left toward some slabs.
Good call. I've fished a bunch of creeks on the Roanoke side. Got 50+ so far with 20 keepers. All on jigs around docks. The are deep today.

Good day to be an angler

Better tell somebody to heat the oil, make some coleslaw and hush puppies.

Hey John - I realize this is a late connect on this post... I'm pretty new to SML...and new to the Boards - will be limited to my kayak (so not likely a huge threat to the fish stocks!) - was hoping you might be able to shed a little additional light on your Walleye encounters on SML?... Any info would be a leap forward for me - thnx!

I haven’t had walleye encounters on sml. They’re up above hardy bridge though feb-April, but not many of em. They can be caught, if you’re very lucky.
If you want good walleye fishing, you gotta go down to Philpott.
