Anybody know about the bass boat sitting on the island near Bernard's Landing? Hope nobody was hurt.

Yep - we came across it this AM on the little island near Bernard's at R11 - did not see signs of anyone and the motor was trimmed way up and lights off, etc so we felt like it had happened earlier, but we got close to the island and called out to see if anyone was there and then called 911 to make sure it had been responded to.
According to the owner who posted on our Striper Mafia FB page when we posted the pics - Last night about 12:30 they were coming out of a cove near Bernard's Landing when another boat was approaching head-on. Sounds like the zigged instead of zagged and ran up on the island to avoid the other boat. Claimed to be going about 25 mph and no alcohol involved. Franklin Cty Fire / Rescue and DGIF responded. No serious injuries to the man and his girlfriend aboard that were fishing in a night bass tourney. If I followed it right, the other boat, which stopped, was also fishing (not clear if in a tourney or not thought).
Glad no one was hurt or worst - boats can be repaired or replaced. We posted it as a reminder to all to be that much more careful when on the water - especially at night. Of course some folks made light of it as tends to happen on Facebook - but thankfully we're not talking about another boating fatality.

I just saw some posts on FB about it. That had to be one scary ride, glad all are OK. It was a mess out there today, about as busy as I've ever seen it. We had a club tournament out of the State Park from 5:00am till 2:00pm. Who came up with that idea? Never again.......

Busy up here on the water above the bridge today too. I didn't put anything in the water today...well, except I did wash my shoes and feet from the dock.

Busier than I've ever seen it yesterday. Low gas prices... Makes sense.
