The wife and I made the trek down again this year hoping for a replay of last year. I did not keep a record of the AT/WT however i just asked the wife if she remembered....she said it was cold/freezing . The weather wasn't to her liking but with the unrelenting rain/cloudiness the past few weeks who can blame her. Bait: Easy. Spent more time undecorating the Christmas tree than catching the bait. Tried throwing a 3/8" 8ft. (sank too slow) and a 5/8" 10 ft. which helped catching bluebacks on steroids (none of which we had any hits on). Technique: Pulled 4-5 free/light line(1/4-3/8 oz weight) planers with 2 free lines out the back. Some casting at breaking schools. Ended up catching 52 stripers the entire week with most coming off of free lines with small to medium size alewifes. Fish seemed pretty aggressive when taking the bait. Thursday was our most productive day with 24, followed by Monday with 12, Tuesday with 7, Wednesday with 7, then what was looking like a skunky Friday until the wife pulled in a 31" followed by a 28" late in the evening. Fish ranged in size from 20" to 31". Also managed to catch 2 citation smallmouth, several decent largemouth, and numerous catfish. Great time on the lake! Can't wait to come back! s1230.photobucket.com/user/Hooked00/library/?view=recent&page=1
