Friday evening AT mid 60's WT 69-70....cold and wind moved in over the weekend and WT was 62-64 mid day Monday 5/16.
Headed out for the night bite on Friday wearing shorts and flip flops.... Found plenty of bait and a few feeding fish but nothing we threw worked.
Didnt fish saturday morning as bathroom remodeling and a shifter cable issue on the boat kept us off the water until about 4 pm. Once we got on the water the wind was so bad it really made the fishing tough. Got skunked that evening but we were ready for Sunday morning.
Fought the wind again Sunday morning and was able to put 2 stripers a channel cat and a smallmouth in the boat. Stripers were on main channel points in the BW.
Sunday afternoon was slow and we needed to catch more bait for Monday so we eased up into a creek and filled the tank.... As we were easing out we noticed a few fish feeding along the banks so we put out some baits and put one more fish in the boat.
Monday morning we decided to head up by the dam as I hadn't yet been up there. It was a beautiful boat ride but the fish were not cooperating and we ended up with a striper skunk but did manage to land a nice smallmouth.
Seems like each weekend lately has had a cold front move in that has really put the fish down... This past weekend especially. Had a great time though and learned a bit about boat throttle cables while i was at it!
