Ok just wanted to get a few ideas on diy Bait tank for my boat. Does anyone here make thier own bait tanks and if so any pics available. I'm thinking a 55 gallon food grade barrel white color with a carbon filtration system and Polly chamber to catch scales. Put in a nice aration and circulation in the barrel and a light to see in at night. Any other ideas?

With warmer days coming just bite the bullet and buy an SBT - You won't regret that decision.

Ron I have a 55 gallon barrel either white or blue that had windshield washer fluid. They clean up and leave no residue. I also have a fluvall 404 filter that is made for big aquariums you can read about on the net that you could have as well. If any of those will help just let me know.

I still have my first tank. A cut down 50 gal blue drum with that spray insulation all over the outside. It has a filter system made out of a PVC tube that fits in the top. It still works great. Might be the ugliest thing you have ever seen tho!
