Thanks! I checked it out and I think I'll try to make it. That's right up my alley! lol I like to make things like this. It gives me something to do when I can't go fishing.

I've seen guys use bolts/nuts cut flush vs. the pop-rivets to avoid the issue described in the link.... drill a hole on the opposite side of the PVC pipe large enough to insert a screwdriver to secure the bolt/nut....

I've been thinking on this!! I dont want the rivets sticking out eating at my rods and I dont want screws eating at my tank.

How about just 5200 the PVC to the nylon strap?

5200 is the duct-tape of the marine world.... ;D 5200 is a 3M product that is a waterproof adhesive sealant and it sticks to about everything (except Starboard) and it major pain to get off one on something..... Not sure how well it would hold up on the long-haul with the smooth PVC and the nylon strap - wonder it they would peel apart - maybe if you roughed up the PVC. Or..... heat-fuse the nylon strap to the PVC. Or, better yet, use a Dremel tool to cut two slots on the PVC pipe, maybe an inch apart, each at the same "height" and thread the strap through it...... When you get yours made, make one for me ;D

Setup a little jig and I bet you can knock it out a lot quicker than you think.... and then you don't have to deal with fasteners that will tear up something, or work loose, etc....

I have been using mine for 2 weeks now and the 1-1/2" pipe works great i have not had any issues with the pop rivets messing up the foam on my handles. I did get me some HVAC duct tape that is very sticky and im going to cut some 1-1/4" strips about 2" long and put over the inside pop-rivets and i know then it will not hurt them. This idea works great and looks good also, the only problem i have had so far is keeping the straps tight to tank, i ended up putting a screw on each side of the strap top and bottom and it dont move at all now. I dont know how thick most tanks are but i have a grayline and the walls are a solid 7/8" thick so 5/8" screws work great. Good luck i will get a picture today of mine and post it.

I have a ratchet strap around mine to hold it in place. You could probably just cut some PVC pieces and secure them around the tank with a couple ratchet straps.
