Got to the lake around 9a.m. Saturday morning after looking for the wifes dog that decided to bolt haha. Went after bait. Went to a few places that have been good to us but with water temps being lower in the 64-66 degree range they had moved to a little different spot. Found some nice big mongos and alot of 8 inch money makers. Loaded bait tank with about 30 and my brother has to leave to go to softball game. So dropped him off and went home to look for dog (found)lol. Got back to lake around 3pm took kids out for a ride on boat and threw the net a bit more just for fun looking for that certain one. Put boards out about 6pm after droping kids back off at dock. Was only into pull for about 5 mins when a board went down real slow like a hang up, after getting it free i felt what i thought was a log or stick i was horsing in turned out to be a small flat head that hit a 14 inch mongo. Pulled untill dark with no more action but another calm evening. With mothers day being today i fig i would give it a break trying to get that first striper on the new boat. Just some more cat slim haha. Looks like its time to make more of a ride to find the first striper to lay on the deck.
